Through a series of challenges that centre around Australian emergency response situations, students will be encouraged to use creative thinking and collaboration to produce solutions that fulfil a user brief. Students will use robot sensor inputs and explore how robots make decisions. They will also explore the potential benefits and drawbacks of mechanical outputs and movements. By the end of this fast-paced introduction to coding, students will have experienced the advantages of using Design Thinking and working collaboratively while rapid prototyping.

Curriculum Focus:

  • Digital Technologies
  • Science
  • Mathematics
  • Critical and Creative Thinking

Technology Utilised:

  • Drones
  • DJI RoboMaster
  • EV3 LegoMindstorms

Student Outcomes:

  • Program a robot in a group using block-code software or Python.
  • Explore how robots are being used in rescue services industry.
